How do we as educators need to adapt our teaching methods to become real 21st Century educators?

After watching the videos Why mobile learning? and  Above and Beyond, it made me reflect on the importance of developing ways to be able to reach students with different capacities or different learning styles. Mobile devices can give us that possibility. The 21st century teacher needs to keep looking for different tools that will give all children in a classroom the ability to communicate, to create, to be engaged, to be motivated, and to become better and independent learners. Mobile learning is the future in education and teachers need to be properly trained to face the challenges of this new era.

As we help our students develop new ways of learning, we need to keep in mind as 21st century teachers, that collaboration and team work will always help our students improve their social skills and their ability to create and innovate by sharing ideas and their knowledge. The use of technology in the classroom can promote students to work cooperatively by sharing ideas and helping each other. Today with twitter and other social networks, students are connected and interacting with one another. These are tools, that with the proper guidance, teachers could also use to motivate student's communication and collaboration.
